I grew up in a small town in Midwest and now have lived in the Twin Cities MN for 10+ years. All my family and friends are within few hours, but I'm bored and want a change. I've visited Colorado Springs and liked it there (I wasn't actually in city but more in resort and the trails) and also thought about checking out North Carolina, possibly TX too not sure. I'd like somewhere with milder winters, not way too hot and humid, outdoor activities- hiking, biking, I like the mountains and the sea. Somewhere with friendly people. I enjoy eating out, and concerts and plays/musicals whenever that starts up again. And somewhere cheaper to live would be nice- or not more expensive than twin cities which I think is getting too expensive... max like $1200-1300 rent preferably but less expensive would be nice. I'm 35 and single, I'd be moving with my cats, which I'm very nervous doing a long distance move with them. I'm also lost on what would be the best way to move- pay to get my furniture moved (1 BR apt- it's not high end but in decent shape and would cost maybe $3500 to replace), leave some furniture behind, or I could pay to store it and just pack up car with what I can fit and start new, or try to find a furnished apartment.
