It's very rare for anyone to get a PH. D or Master's in Ed without teaching experience. Focus on getting a feel on what you want to reach, why you want to teach, and where. Make connections, explore different things, get involved in classrooms/other forms of teaching. Most principals/upper admin have a master's or higher. Don't stress about it, you might find that you also want to do something else with your life. Lots of people choose a different path, no shame in it. It's also not good practice to do your,, and Ph. d at the same school.

TIL that after leaving college to play in the NBA, Shaquille O'Neal nonetheless went on to earn Bachelors, MBA, and Doctor of Education degrees. He next plans to go to law school. : todayilearned

The combination of these three strands allows students to gain intellectual depth and breadth as they develop an independent research agenda. The concentration prepares students for research careers in academia and research institutes. Urban Superintendents Program Urban Superintendents Program (which enrolled its last cohort in Fall 2009; please see the Ed. L. D. Program) is a concentration for people who wish to transform education by becoming superintendents of urban school systems. USP is a rigorous course of study designed for professionals who have worked in metropolitan school districts as teacher-leaders, school principals, or central office administrators. Unlike other concentrations, the program requires an accelerated course of study (12 months of coursework), an intensive six-month internship, and the research and writing of a qualifying paper and dissertation.

Fear of failure, bad grades, poor future. By caring first, you're allowing them to connect learning to being more safe. And when they connect learning to safety, you're encouraging them to get curious. After care, know that all people are curious. We're natural learners. The unschool movement is all about the natural ability for human beings to learn. Schoolteachers, however, refer to this as childlike curiosity. There's truth in both, but my suggestion is to allow them to be curious about anything and everything (taking physical safety into account). Eventually, meeting standards and stuff will become important. But that's infinitely easier to do when a love of learning is solidly in place. Also, people are curious about certain things, but we're also curious in certain ways. Some people like to touch, some people like to reflect, some people like to observe. Take note of how they're curious and encourage this kind of behavior. Don't judge it. Let it happen. Lastly, don't worry about school and academic performance and preparing for Ivy league schools.
