My office manger said that was okay and I wouldn't have to be a dental assistant. Now all of a sudden my mangers are giving me an ultimatum. Either I dental assist one day a week and still work up front or my hours will be cut down to 30 instead of 40. Apparently they hired to many people for the front office and it's affecting company budget. (Why even hire me in the first place? ) I'm not trying to be stubborn but dental assisting is definitely not my thing and it's just something I'm not interested in doing or adding to my resume. I have a meeting with my manager and other co workers in the same boat as me in a few days and I don't know what I should say or do. I can't afford to have my hours cut that drastically for too long. Do y'all think I should start looking for other work and take the 30 hours a week? That's what I'm leaning towards right now, but I'm unsure if that's a good move.
